Alexandre Lucenet
Alexandre Lucernet is a French digital artist based in Montreal. He was trained at the Bellecour School in Lyon and worked at Cirque du Soleil as a 3D artist before joining the Canadian agency Cossette as a motion designer. At the same time, he developed a distinctive artistic style that mixes elements of rave culture, cyberpunk inspiration, and avant-garde processes.
Through his digital works, which function as automated installations and robotic displays featuring portraits deconstructed by movements evoking industrial processes, Aliendope seeks to represent humanity diffracted by technology, in search of identity and integrity. His works materialize the contradictions, temptations, anxieties, addictions, sufferings, and angers generated by our time, subjecting his portraits to the dualities of form and texture. Although the themes of the absurd and revolt dominate his artistic research as a corollary, he sometimes makes room for works of a completely different register, where finely designed digital environments offer ideal shelters.
